This Bulgarian painting holiday, like our other destinations, is about painting in superb destinations with fabulous painting / drawing sites.
Artistic levels: Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced.
Medium: Watercolours (recommended). But you can also choose drawing or gouache. More experienced artists: Acrylics, pastels, oils.
Group size: 8 to 15 guests.
Important: You must be able to walk at a normal pace around town and on our outings.

Tuition in a relaxed environment by a talented and caring tutor.
Art materials provided for watercolours (paints, brushes, paper), drawing. Pastels or gouache are also provided upon request, at no extra charge. Acrylics or oils are not provided but you are welcome to bring your own.

BULGARIA typical ART HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:
To get to the Plovdiv, a free group pick up is included. There can be no individual rides or discounts if you cannot make the group pickup.
DAY 1. Welcome!!! Group pickup at Sofia airport at 5.00 PM. It is roughly a 90 minute drive. Upon arrival, the group will have time to freshen up. First group dinner at a local restaurant. Let the fun begin!
Plovdiv is an enchanting city, one of Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and a true paradise for artists with a history dating back approximately 8000 years. Its beauty provides endless inspiration for sketching and painting through its cobbled streets, preserved houses with colourful facades and hidden courtyards. With its rich artistic heritage, vibrant creative spirit and irresistible old-world charm, the Old Town is atmospheric with magnificent architecture. An extremely well-preserved ancient roman theatre and breathtaking views across the surrounding hills make it astounding. Plovdiv is a wonderful place to capture the beauty of Bulgaria through painting.

DAY 2. Breakfast at your leisure within service hours. Late morning start with some sightseeing close to the hotel, followed by lunch in the area. In the afternoon, painting session in a charming, secluded setting steeped in history and tranquility!
DAY 3. Breakfast. Late morning start with a one-hour painting session to finish off yesterday’s painting or to working on a particular technique. Lunch, followed by an afternoon painting session nestled in the charming heart of the old town, in a peaceful setting, surrounded by timeless architecture.
DAY 4. Breakfast. Late morning start with some sightseeing before lunch, followed by an afternoon painting session in Plovdiv.
DAY 5. Free day. No meals except breakfast on the free day. Enjoy a day exploring the city. You’ll be able to visit the fascinating Archeological museum, the Regional Ethnographic Museum or one of the city’s many art galleries. Alternatively, discover local boutiques, enjoy some shopping or simply relax in one of the many cafés in town.
DAY 6. Breakfast. One-hour painting session to finish off paintings (optional). Lunch, followed by a painting session at the ancient Roman Theatre of Plovdiv. This spectacular place will awe you in more ways than one with its remarkable history and breathtaking views.
This theatre, built in the 1st century AD during the reign of Roman Emperor Domitian, was once used for public gatherings and gladiatorial spectacles, and is still used today for concerts and diverse cultural events.
DAY 7. Breakfast. Late morning walk to lunch, followed by a painting session at panoramic NEBET TEPE.
Nebet Tepe (Guardian Hill) is one of the seven hills around Plovdiv (no hard climbing to get there). It is one of the most ancient and fascinating landmarks, where the remains of prehistoric settlements Thracian fortifications and medieval walls reveal thousands of years of history. Nebet Tepe offers spectacular panoramic views across Plovdiv and its surrounding hills making it a wonderful place to find artistic inspiration!
DAY 8. Breakfast and goodbyes.
Mobility: If you are generally relatively fit, you can skip this part.
Test: I can walk 25 to 30 minutes at a time at a normal pace and climb two flights of stairs without it being strenuous.
