Tutor: Marie Remond. Marie is a talented Franco-American art teacher. She is also the owner at Azenart Painting Holidays. She’s a people lover and will put you at ease within the first minute! You can visit Marie’s facebook page but also her Youtube channel or her website.

Mediums taught: Watercolours, acrylic, oil, gouache, drawing, glass painting, pastels, clay sculpting, mosaic, collage.

*If painting with oil paint, we recommend that you bring a wet-carrying case.

Equipment and materials provided: Proper equipment at the studio (desk, chair…)

Outdoor events: Board, chair (or stool if out at a “plein-air” outdoors site), easel if needed, palette, water jar, scissors, artist tape, paints, brushes, paper, pencil, rubber/eraser, ruler. If working with acrylics and wishing to paint on a canvas instead of paper, let us know, we can provide one for an extra 7 to 10 Euros (different sizes) or you can bring your own.

Level: All levels. Beginners welcome (even if you’ve never painted before), intermediate, advanced.

What will we paint?

If painting at the studio, you will be asked to bring a photo of a subject you would like to paint or bring an object like shoes, a piece of jewellery... Photos that you bring can be paper or on a tablet or phone. They can be seascape, landscape, a portrait of a person, animal, “old authentics” (such as rusty locks, pealing doors, gates), close-ups (eyes, hands…) etc.

If at a ‘plein air event’ (painting outdoors at a painting site) you will paint the scenery. If you are a beginner, you will be able to concentrate on one easy part, or on one subject within the scenery, such as just one boat, a tree, a pretty door etc.
